Privacy notice
Short version: we collect as little as we can, we do not use cookies, and we never sell anything about you.

Who we are
Pressing Matters (pressingmattersfootball.com) is an independent website about football tactics. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Pressing Matters is the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at [email protected].
Reading the site
You can read every guide without giving us any personal information. We do not set cookies, we do not show adverts, and we do not use tracking pixels or social media widgets.
Our fonts and images are served from our own domain, so reading a page does not send your details to any font service or image library.
Visit statistics
Our site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, the analytics built into that hosting service, to count visits. Our own pages contain no analytics code; the host adds a small measurement script when it serves them. It does not set cookies or build a profile of you.
We see totals such as page views, popular pages, broad referring sources, and the kind of device and browser used. We cannot use these figures to identify you.
Cloudflare processes standard request information, including IP addresses, in order to deliver the site and keep it secure. It does so on our behalf, under a data processing agreement, and keeps those logs for a limited period.
Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website and understanding which guides people find useful.
Emailing us
If you email us, we receive your name, your email address and whatever you write. We use these only to read and reply to your message, and to make any correction you report.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us. We keep correspondence for up to two years, then delete it, unless it relates to a correction we have published, in which case we keep a record of the correction.
We will never add you to a mailing list or pass your details to anyone else for marketing.
RSS feed
If you subscribe to our RSS feed, your feed reader fetches it like any other page. We do not know who subscribes.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- object to us using it, or ask us to restrict how we use it.
To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator for data protection. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
