Key points
- Sky Sports shows at least 215 live Premier League games a season; TNT Sports shows 52.
- TNT Sports and Prime Video share the Champions League this season, its last before Paramount+ takes most games.
- The EFL is on Sky Sports, with over 1,000 games a season; iFollow no longer streams matches to UK fans.
- The BBC is your free-to-air option: Premier League highlights, live FA Cup ties and WSL games.
Every season the same question comes round: where is the game on? With rights split between subscription channels, streamers and the BBC, it is easy to end up paying for the wrong one.
Here is who shows what in the UK in 2026/27, and what changes next season.
Premier League
This is the second season of the Premier League’s four-year UK deal, which runs from 2025/26 to 2028/29 and is worth a record £6.7bn.
- Sky Sports holds four of the five live packages and shows at least 215 games a season.
- TNT Sports has the other package: 52 games, including the Saturday 12.30pm kick-off and two full midweek rounds.
- BBC has highlights of all 380 games, so Match of the Day carries on.
Saturday 3pm games are still not shown live in the UK. If your team kicks off then, you are relying on the radio, the stadium or the highlights.
EFL
Every Championship, League One and League Two club is now covered by Sky Sports. Its five-year deal, worth £935m, started in 2024/25 and puts over 1,000 EFL games a season live on Sky’s channels and streaming platform.
That deal ended live match streaming on iFollow and club services for fans in the UK. International fans can still use them.
The 3pm blackout applies to the EFL too, so a Saturday 3pm League Two game will not be on in the UK.
Champions League
This is the last season of the current deal. TNT Sports shows most matches, while Amazon Prime Video has the first pick of games on Tuesday nights.
From 2027/28, Paramount+ takes over most games in a four-year deal. Prime Video keeps its Tuesday first pick. TNT Sports loses the competition.
Europa League and Conference League
Both are on TNT Sports this season. From 2027/28, Sky Sports becomes the exclusive UK home of both, showing every match.
For fans of English clubs in Europe, that means a new subscription to think about next summer.
FA Cup
TNT Sports is the main FA Cup broadcaster from 2025/26, replacing ITV. The BBC keeps free-to-air games through a deal with TNT that runs to 2028/29, with 14 games a season, including the final.
Free-to-air coverage is smaller than it used to be, and TNT gets first pick in every round. But the BBC still shows two ties a round up to the quarter-finals, plus a semi-final and the final.
Women’s Super League
The WSL is shown live by Sky Sports and the BBC, under a five-year deal running to 2029/30. Sky shows most games, and the BBC has a regular share of free-to-air matches.
Scottish Premiership
Sky Sports shows up to 60 Scottish Premiership games a season under a deal with the SPFL that runs until the end of 2028/29. Premier Sports also has live Premiership games, up to 22 a season, under its own deal to 2028/29.
How to keep the cost down
- Check your club’s games first. Look at which channel has your team’s next run of fixtures before you sign up to anything.
- Use monthly passes. Sky Sports is available through a rolling NOW membership, and TNT Sports through HBO Max, so you can start and stop month by month. Some cheaper NOW deals tie you in for 12 months, so check before you sign.
- Plan for next season. The European changes in 2027/28 will move games to different services, so avoid long contracts that tie you into the wrong one.
- Do not forget free options. The BBC has Premier League highlights, live FA Cup ties and WSL games at no extra cost beyond the licence fee.
And if it is a Saturday at 3pm, there is always the best seat of all: the one in the ground.

What it means for fans
Most fans need Sky Sports and TNT Sports to see their club's league and European games this season, plus Prime Video for the Tuesday-night Champions League pick. From 2027/28 the European picture changes: Paramount+ for most Champions League games and Sky for the Europa and Conference Leagues.
